DKMS, The Delete Blood Cancer Organization!

Through our partnership with The Delete Blood Cancer Organization (DKMS), we were notified there was a donor match, and successful transplant by one of our BH5K Memory Run walkers/runners, and a Cancer patient in need in 2015. Last we were updated, this patient is doing well!! Truly amazing!

We know that both the above would not have been possible without you, our runners, walkers, teams, partners & sponsors!  For this, we thank you!

We are pleased to announce that we are again partnering with The Delete Blood Cancer Organization (Deletebloodcancer.org)

Thanks to Megan Rizzo, and her family and friends, we will have a station set up at our event, to actively register people to become a stem cell donor. This will take place before, during and after the race. This is a quick and easy process that simply swabs the inside of your mouth for a sample. One of our main goals at The Bay Head 5Kk Memory Run, is to get as many people registered into the DKMS national database, to give those afflicted with Cancer more of a chance to find a donor match.

We registered over 250 runners at last years event and our goal is to double that number this year! It takes 2 minutes, so please look for the table with the red balloons and the DKMS logo to help make a difference and possibly save lives. As if potentially being able to save a person's life isn't enough incentive, we will also be picking at random, from all who register, for 5 sets of 2 tickets to our "all ages, family friendly" after party with open bar, d.j. and full bbq on the beach at Martell's Tiki Bar in Point Pleasant, N.J. from 12-5pm!
